Laser Tattoo Removal November 30th, 2009

We all know that tattoos are more popular than ever. The bad news is that lots of people regret their tattoos for a variety of reasons. The good news is that laser tattoo removal is becoming a more acceptable form of erasing past mistakes.

There are several reasons why people want to remove their tattoos, but mostly because of indiscretion of youth:

Guys intending to join the military would want to remove their tattoos because any tattoo or brand located anywhere on the head or face are prohibited by the U.S. Army (NOTE: the Army may have relaxed this restriction somewhat to bolster recruitment. Check with your recruiter for more details.).

Women may want to remove the tattoo on their ankle or leg so they can wear nylons in the workplace.

Or there is nothing like showing up for an job interview looking like a member of a gang and wondering you are never getting any call backs!

Lasers are the most popular method of tattoo removal these days. Laser tattoo removal has generally better results, less pain and less chances of scarring. But that is NO guarantee everything will work out perfectly. As always, KNOW YOUR RISKS!

I think the easiest way to explain how the laser tattoo removal works is this; when you get tattooed, the ink particles stays in the skin because it is too big for your tissue to remove. What the laser does is emit short, but powerful pulses of light that break the ink pigment into tiny particles, which are more easily removed by the bodys immune system during the weeks and months following laser treatment.

The number of laser treatments to remove the unwanted tattoo varies depends on the type of ink used, how deep the ink was injected and the location of the tattoo. Also, keep in mind that the professional tattoos are much harder to remove than the street tattoos. That is because the professionals use better quality ink and tattoo equipment to insure and minimize fading of the tattoo.

The color of the ink is a big factor in determining how many laser treatments you will need to remove the tattoo. Black and blue tattoos are the easiest to remove while the green and yellow pigments are the hardest.

The usual laser tattoo removal process would require anywhere from 4 to 12 laser treatments spaced out 5 weeks apart. These parameters can change so be sure to discuss this with your laser technician.

The laser treatment can be painful and usually the laser technician will apply or recommend a topical anesthetic or numbing cream to reduce your skins sensitivity to the laser pulses BEFORE the process starts.

Another thing to keep in mind is that laser tattoo removal can destroy hair follicles. So if you want to have a tattoo removed from an area where there is wanted hair growth, you may have to manually extract all follicles prior to treatment. Again, check with your laser technician to determine your exact risks.

Surprisingly in most areas, there are no license or certification required to operate a laser tattoo removal device. The lasers were originally designed for use by Doctors only — but recent modifications made this device simple enough for anyone to learn to use and perform.

Your laser technician should ask you several relevant questions about your medical history and currently prescribed medication. This is because certain medical conditions and medications would make exposure to the laser treatment dangerous to you.

You can expect to see some redness, swelling, blistering, bruising, pinpoint bleeding or scabbing in the treated areas. And the treated area will feel warm for a few hours after treatment.

Your laser technician will give you after care instructions like applying an ice pack for a hour or so… and keeping the treated area clean. The technician may tell you to stay out of the sun and avoid the tanning beds for a while.

Conclusion:
In short, laser tattoo removal is more acceptable today. As always, do your due diligence when seeking to have your unwanted tattoo removed. Make sure the equipment and office is sanitized… and the technician is experienced and knowledgeable about the laser tattoo removal process.

The process does involve some pain and requires several treatments for success. There is always a chance the laser will leave a scar. There are several parameters that will determine how many laser treatments will be needed to remove your unwanted tattoo. Be mindful that there are no guarantees of a complete tattoo removal because of so many different brands of tattoo inks. And gradually, you will see your tattoo fade away…/pbr

Reduce Rosacea – How to Reduce Rosacea Facial Redness November 30th, 2009

Author: Margaret Bellbr

br
In order to reduce rosacea facial redness, you first need to understand the cause. Once the cause is known the how to reduce facial redness is easier.

The Cause of Facial Redness

The cause of any reddening of the skin is capillary congestion, due to inflammation. There may be several underlying causes, including heredity, exposure to extremes in temperature, repeated sunburn, stress and anxiety. But, at the end of the day, the primary cause, the one that is easiest to address is inflammation.

The condition typically occurs in fair skinned people, who are more sensitive to sunlight and burn more easily. In an older person, one of the causes may be free radical damage that has occurred throughout their lives. Free radical damage plays a role in wrinkling, sagging, age spots and similar problems. But, that damage can be repaired, with topically applied creams.

Topically applied creams will help reduce rosacea facial redness, too. The benefit that you will see, when you select the right product, is a younger looking complexion, with more even pigmentation. Listed below are some of the ingredients that work to bring about this change in your complexion.

Nut-grass Root

Cyperus Rotundus, commonly known as the nut-grass root, is a medicinal plant to some, a weed to many. A company in Germany decided to take advantage of its medicinal benefits, one of which is to soothe irritation and reduce inflammation on the skin.

During their clinical trials, they noticed that the extract caused reduced pigmentation, got rid of age spots and lightened tans, all without causing any irritation. After careful evaluation, they found that something in the root inhibits the production of melanin within the skin. This ingredient could help reduce rosacea facial redness, because of its anti-inflammatory activity and even out pigmentation, all over your face, by inhibiting melanin production.

Functional Keratin

Functional Keratin is a natural protein extracted from sheeps wool. It has been shown to reduce rosacea facial redness that is caused by inflammation or skin sensitivities. It acts by inhibiting the production of an inflammatory compound called prostaglandin E2 or PGE2. Research showed up to a 70% reduction in PGE2 after the very first use.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a unique antioxidant, in that it repairs free radical damage. Since free radical damage is likely to play a role in the broken capillaries that sometimes appear in people with rosacea, repairing that damage will help.

There are some excellent creams on the market that contain a number of beneficial antioxidants, as well as essential fatty acids and other nutrients that are necessary for healthy looking skin. These ingredients are good for anyone to use, regardless of their complexion type.

For women, a Natural Whitening Day Cream or an Active Age Defense Cream will help reduce rosacea facial redness.

For men, the Age-Defense Active Facial Fluid is the best choice, as it contains several natural anti-inflammatories, including Functional Keratin.

All the ingredients in these products will improve your skins health and appearance, regardless of your age or your skins current condition. Give it a few weeks and see what a difference it can make. For more information please visit my website listed below. Thanks, Margaret Bell

Best Makeup Brushes November 30th, 2009

Author: Isabel Andersonbr

br
As with any type of painting, the success in executing a good facial makeup lies greatly in the tools used to apply the different colors. Some women are adept at using their bare fingers to apply cosmetics, but the best makeup brushes will certainly deliver the right effects at the right corners.

The basic among the makeup brushes that should be present in every womans makeup set is the powder brush. It is a full brush and is the largest among the set, designed to evenly apply loose makeup powder on the face. Upward and twirling strokes of this powder brush against the face help to avoid uneven caking of the powder on the skin. A foundation brush has flat but soft bristles and is used to apply cream based or liquid foundation. A soft foundation brush may be naturally made from sable fur or from a smooth, washable synthetic material.

The Kabuki brush originated from the Japanese theatres, where performers need a large, thick yet soft brush to apply heavy makeup in a quick time. The traditional Japanese plays showcase the expressive artistry of Japanese kabuki makeup. In the present times, kabuki brushes are gaining a following in parallel with the popularity of the mineral based makeup. This kind of brush has coarse bristles that can easily pick up loose, powdered minerals and that can conveniently set the mineral foundation unto the skin with a buffing action.

Concealer brushes are meant solely for concealer application. Since concealers are being used to conceal skin imperfections such as skin discoloration, zits and rough edges, these tools should come in the right form and weight. A tapered square head with flat firm brushes is the appropriate concealer brush to be used under the eye area. Tapered, round brushes on the other hand should be used to cover blemishes in other facial zones. Concealer brushes should have long brushes for flexibility in under the eye makeup application and they should have the right weight to place the right pressure without straining the hands. Dab the dark spot with the concealer and blend well using precise, short strokes.

A perfect blusher blush should have a full head of slightly tapered brushes for even and natural distribution of blush pigments. The small brushes that often comes with the blush are oftentimes too hard bristled that they pick up more pigments than necessary. Naturally blend the blush pigment into the skin tone by upwardly sweeping the blusher blush from the cheek mound up to the hairline.

A medium sized eyeshadow brush is the best to use for a multi purpose function. Use the side part to apply color across the entire eyelid area and the tip edge to define the eyelid crease. Do not forget to blend and sweep to achieve a harmonious skin tone hue. An eyebrow brush will take care of the final touches of defining the brows.

See and feel the difference of having your makeup applied using cosmetic brushes. Look naturally beautiful without the feeling of being too cosmetically made up with the help of the best makeup brushes.

Best Kitchen Countertop – And the Winner Is? November 30th, 2009

Author: Steve Frickbr
Source: ezinearticles.combr
br
As with most decisions in remodeling, the one size fits all just doesnt do it. There is no pat answer on which countertop material is best but this article should get you pointed in the right direction. Each countertop material has its own pros and cons so it pays to do your research before you make your final decision and pony-up the dough. Ultimately, it is a matter of personal preference but no matter which countertop choice you make, there are three main considerations that you will need before making your countertop choice: They are: Cost – Design – Utility.

I place these in this order for a reason: Your budget will ultimately determine the material choices you will have. Next is the design: Achieving your design / style goals can usually be achieved at all the various price points. The final choice is utility. These days, durability (like design) can be achieved through all countertop materials. Ok, lets get started:

Wood: Yes, you heard right Wood. Most of us have seen butcher block island cabinets of a piece of butcher block incorporated into the countertop, but there is a whole new world of wood countertop solutions if you have the cash. Pricing on these countertops make granite look like a bargain! If you want a Stand-Out kitchen, this will most certainly do it.
Cost: Prices (just for the materials range from $100 sq. ft. to $500 sq. ft.!
Design: The choices of wood species are extraordinary: Just to name a few… Cherry, Bamboo, Beech, Black Walnut, Canary, Hickory, Maple, Chestnut, Red Oak, Reclaimed Redwood, Teak, Zebrawood (among others).
Utility: Incredibly, this choice is quite durable. Other than re-oiling the tops every 9 to 12 months or so, there is very little maintenance. Waterproof: One supplier (Craft-Art) categorically states that all of their countertops are absolutely waterproof. As well they are stain resistant, food safe, heat resistant and scratch resistant.

Granite: This is currently the most popular countertop on the market. Beautiful, durable and low maintenance sums-up this choice.
Cost: Affordability (or lack thereof) is the main issue with granite as you can easily spend $70 to $150 per square foot depending on the quality and scarcity of the stone. Other factors that determine cost is the thickness of the stone (2 or 3 centimeters widths) as well as the amount of pits and imperfections. There are typically 2 to 3 quality levels depending on which slab yard you go to. This can have a substantial impact on the final cost.
Design: Styles and colors of granite are plentiful. Some estimates are in the 3,000 range. You need only to go to a few of slab yards to see that the sky is the limit with regards to available choices.
Utility: Granite is very durable and holds-up well to heat. Although it is important to seal the granite a couple of times a year, overall care and maintenance is relatively minor.

*** Note: There has been (of late) a lot of press about the radon gas issue with granite. Most of the findings state that while there are some levels of radon, it does not pose a health threat. Further information is available by going the to the Marble Institute of America website.

Marble: Using Marble in kitchen applications creates a number of issues that may preclude you from making this choice; however it is widely used in Italy (and other European countries) as a standard countertop material.
Cost: The cost for Marble is high – comparable with granite.
Design: There are sufficient colors of Marble to achieve the color and style you are looking for however, it may take more time and effort than with granite.
Utility: Marble holds-up well to heat however it is a highly porous stone. For this reason, it is susceptible to staining etching even if you seal it on a regular basis. As well, this material will change color over time. While some people will appreciate this, most want to have their countertops to look as good in 10 years (shiny new) as it looks the day they install them.

Cultured Marble: This product is made from crushed marble, resin and pigments (for color). While it is widely for countertops in bathrooms, it is not used in kitchen applications. For this reason, it is not covered in this article.

Limestone: As with Marble, Limestone can be used for kitchen countertops, there comes with it, numerous issues that you need to know up front so you dont find yourself regretting the choice.
Cost: Typically less expensive than marble or granite but it is still natural stone and can get expensive.
Design: There are fewer choices (compared to granite) however limestone does come in some vibrant blue colors that marble does not. Canada is the main source of limestone in North America.
Utility: While Limestone is highly resistant to humidity, it nonetheless a very porous material that stains easily and can erode over time. Proper sealing is an absolute must and is highly susceptible to erosion from juices, fruits and foods that contain acidic properties.

Quartz: You might recognize the most popular industry names as Cambria, Zodiaq, Silestone or Cesarstone. While these quartz products are appx. 93% natural stone, they are in fact an engineered stone. Resin and pigments make up the remaining 7%.
Cost: While Quartz is an engineered product (unlike Granite) it is nonetheless expensive. Prices can reach the price of the lower-end of the granite spectrum.
Design: Due to the fact it is engineered you can find a color to meet your needs with little difficulty.
Utility: This engineered fabrication affords extremely high durability however it will chip with high impact or sharp objects falling on it.

Solid Surface: The most commonly known name Corian. Corian is made by DuPont and is a non-porous, engineered material. It has lost some market share over the last few years to granite and quartz however it still finds favor with homeowners who like the seamless sinks.
Cost: Pricing for this material is less expensive than granite but will be more expensive than tile.
Design: Corian comes in 130 different colors and 3 different surface types (Satin, Semi Gloss and High Gloss) so there will be no problem finding a color and finish to achieve the style you are looking for.
Utility: Corian is very durable and most stains and spots can be cleaned off with soapy water or an ammonia based cleaner (no window cleaners though). For more stubborn stains, use CLR or Lime Away. It is not recommended to place pots or pans directly from the oven

Tile: This material dates back some 4,000 years so it is safe to say that longevity is something you wont need to worry about. While it has lost some of its luster (figuratively speaking) it still finds favor in the marketplace.
Cost: Very cost effective for basic tile however custom tile can bring the price-point up significantly.
Design: Literally hundreds of colors and styles to choose from including ceramic, porcelain and granite.
Utility: Very durable and heat resistant however is susceptible to chipping or breakage if heavy or pointed objects dropped on tiles

Stainless Steel:
Cost: Price points for stainless are reasonable however stainless steel comes in different qualities. It pays to go with the better qualities as the less expensive option has a tendency to scratch easier.
Design: Great for contemporary look but best if used in conjunction with another surface so that it does not become too sterile.
Utility: Very heat resistant and durable however will scratch with sharp objects.

Concrete: While not generally known, concrete is becoming a popular choice for kitchens… the counters and sinks are poured in place so they can achieve designs and styles not afforded by the other countertop materials. If you have an irregular kitchen shape, concrete may be a good choice
Cost: Equal to or more expensive than granite and engineered stone (in most cases) however depending on the style and amount of labor involved, it can get pricy.
Design: Since it is a poured product, you can get very creative with regard to shapes, color and flair.
Utility: Concrete is very porous but can be sealed. This material requires regular maintenance to reduce the chance of staining. Cracks and chipping are also possible if heavy or sharp objects are dropped on the counters.

Laminate: New laminate products have really changed the perception of the old Formica. New designs and an exponential increase in colors and patterns make it a great choice for the lower price point.
Cost: Hands-down the most cost effective counter material on the market today
Design: Multitudes of color and pattern choices.
Utility: Very strong with a high resistance to scratching and staining. Fairly resistant to heat however it can burn if pots or pans are placed on the surface when taken right out of the oven or from the cooktop.

Framing Pastel Artwork November 30th, 2009

What are delicate paintings? Pastels paintings are millions of tiny particles of colorant bent and captivated in the arrangement of the cardboard by automated adhesion. These particles reflect the light, and this is what gives delicate paintings their admirable animation and luminosity. This superior has fabricated pastels a big admired a part of artists for actually hundreds of years.

However, theres a downside to delicate paintings. The adhering armament befitting the particles of colorant on the cardboard can be appealing calmly disturbed. 8 Common Skin Problems, 1 True Cause November 29th, 2009

Author: Ben Branklinbr
Source: ezinearticles.combr
br
When nutrition is less than adequate, the skin is subject to an amazing number of abnormalities; and the synthetic beauty fostered by the cosmetic industry is poor counterfeit for genuine attributes of health. The one true cause is specific vitamin deficiencies that manifests themselves in your skin.Clinical trials have shown this to be true.

The following are the the cures for each skin problem:

Oily Skin

When volunteers have been kept on diets mildly lacking in vitamin B, the first symptoms were whiteheads and oily hair and skin. This condition cleared up soon after 5 to 25 milligrams of vitamin B were given daily.

Dry Skin

Bad dryness is usually corrected in a few weeks.Dryness of the skin has resulted in volunteers lacking vitamins A, C, linoleic acid, or any one of several B vitamins. The oils of the skin are unsaturated and appear to be made almost wholly of the essential fatty acids; therefore unless vegetable oils are consumed, the skin is invariably dry.

Sunburned Easily?

Persons especially prone to sunburn have tolerated 50 to 100 times more exposure that previously when taking 1,000 milligrams daily of the B vitamin PABA (para aminobenzoic acid); and applying a salve containing this vitamin had been equally effective.Other individuals normally sun burned but using PABA ointment have remained 8 or more hours in Florida sun without burning.

Stretch Marks

Although healthy skin is amazingly elastic, previously overweight persons and most women who have had children retain stretch marks. This abnormality appears to result from the stress of inadequate reducing and pregnancy diets, which have allowed body proteins to be destroyed to the extent that scars have taken the place of weakened tissues.

A high protein diet supplemented with 600 units of vitamin E and 300 milligrams of panthothenic acid daily throughout a pregnancy has made stretch marks completely disappear.

Wrinkles

In Dr. Selyes experiments in premature aging, wrinkles could be prevented by giving large amounts of vitamin E.It may be that the multiple stresses that induce again cause cells in the lower layers of skin to be destroyed and bits of scar tissue to take their place; and that wrinkles form when such scar tissue contracts.

Scars remain, however, unless the diet is completely adequate to the point that healthy tissue can be built to replace them.

Skin too Dark?

When adrenals are exhausted, as in Addisons disease, the skin may become so deeply pigmented that formerly fair individuals are assumed to be of Mexican or black races.Such people sometimes literally change beyond recognition after a few weeks of adhering to an adequate diet.Minor pigmentation, which appears first across the forehead and occurs so frequently during stress of pregnancy that it is spoken of as pregnancy cap, is also common among undernourished persons and probably always indicates a deficiency of pantothenic acid. This pigmentation quickly disappears when an anti stress program is adhered to.

People deficient in either of the B vitamins folic acid or niacin amide develop pigmentation of the skin, particularly in exposed areas.Such pigmentation has cleared up when 5 milligrams of folic acid or 100 milligrams of niacin amide have been taken with each meal.

Skin too Light?

In a condition know as vitiligo, areas of skin lose their pigmentation while other areas become darker. This increasingly common abnormality is another symptom of malnutrition, and has been corrected by giving 150 to 300 milligrams of pantothenic acid daily or 1,000 milligrams or more of PABA.Applying PABA ointment to the depigmented areas sometimes brings marked improvement. This condition generally clears up after the diet is unusually high in all the natural sources of B vitamins.

Adolescent Acne

Generous amounts of vitamin A have been reported to help adolescent acne. This has not worked in all cases, however. More than likely the cause is the amounts of new stresses brought on and a lack of nutrients to fight off all of the new stress.

Many cases have been cleared up after taking yeast, oil, vitamins A and D, and 300 milligrams of pantothenic acid daily.Taking vitamin B has also helped to clear up acne, and increasing the intake of nuts, unhydrogenated peanut butter, mayonnaise, and safflower oil has caused the skin to improve markedly.

Vitamin E is vitally important to prevent scarring from acne and in removing old scars, especially if x-ray treatments have been given.Because nine out of every ten cases of acne treated with x-ray have been found to develop skin cancers later, these scars should be removed as quickly as possible.

Think Before You Ink – Some Things To Know Before Getting A Tattoo November 29th, 2009

Author: Catherine Sheehanbr
Source: isnare.combr
br
It goes without saying that when you get a tattoo, you’re choosing (hopefully not on the spur of the moment) to put a permanent mark on your body. It’s a quick decision to make, but can be a much tougher one to reverse. And though it might be impossible right now to imagine a day when you’re not going to want your boyfriend’s initials or your favorite team’s logo branded on your body, it’s worth learning a few facts about tattoos and tattoo removal now – so you’re not surprised by them later.

When you get a tattoo, an electric machine vibrates a cluster of needles hundreds of times per minute to puncture your skin. It then deposits pigments made of carbon and organic dyes mixed with metallic elements into the deep layer of your skin called the dermis. The more intricate and multi-colored your tattoo, the longer the tattooing process will take.

It’s estimated that more than 20 million Americans have at least one tattoo, and that 36% of all 18-30 year-olds have some kind of ink on their bodies. But here are a couple other numbers for you: 40-50%. That’s the estimated number of people who regret their tattoos, and decide to get them removed. Sometimes it’s because the tattoo is faded and just doesn’t look good anymore. Some people can develop an allergic reaction to the dye, or are scarred during the tattooing process. And often people reach a different phase in their life and their tattoo doesn’t fit the person they’ve become. Unfortunately, getting rid of these marks that were intended to be permanent is easier said than done.

Lasers became the treatment of choice for tattoo removal starting in the late ‘80s. Up until that point, processes for tattoo removal read like something out of a horror movie: Dermabrasion, where skin was sanded to remove surface and middle layers; cryosurgery, where the tattoo area was frozen before it was removed; excision, where a tattoo was removed with a scalpel and the wound was closed with stitches. A pretty gruesome ending to what may have started as a multi-colored butterfly.

Though those procedures are still used in certain cases, lasers have replaced them as the standard tattoo removal treatment. Lasers work by producing short pulses of intense light that pass through the top layers of your skin and get absorbed by the tattoo pigment. That light energy causes the tattoo pigment to fragment into small particles that then are removed naturally by your body’s immune system.

Laser tattoo removal is minimally invasive, low-risk and effective – all good things. But it’s not a quick or simple process. What’s so complicated about it? There are a number of different types of lasers out there, and their effectiveness depends on the color or colors of your tattoo. The laser that’s the best for removing green pigment is different than the laser of choice for black pigment, which are both different than the laser that delivers the optimal wavelength to get rid of red pigment. And the complexities don’t stop there. The number of treatments you’ll need to completely remove your tattoo also depends on the type of ink your tattooist used and how deeply he or she injected it. And speaking of type of ink, there are over 100 varieties of tattoo inks out there, and sometimes pigments undergo chemical changes after you get tattooed. All that combined with the size and placement of your tattoo, and your body’s ability to heal, make it impossible to predict how many treatment sessions your tattoo removal might entail.

So you still want to get one, huh? Here are a couple things to keep in mind on the off-chance you decide you want your tattoo removed somewhere down the line. Solid black or green tattoos are the easiest to remove. The hardest are mutli-colored tattoos, especially those with floral and pastel colors. There’s also a revolutionary kind of ink available, called Infinitink, that’s been scientifically formulated to be removable with minimal lasering. An Infinitink tattoo is just as permanent as any other and is applied by inserting ink through the skin – just like a normal tattoo. But unlike normal tattoos that usually require several laser treatments to remove, Infinitink tattoos can be removed with one lasering and save you time, money and pain.

And a final piece of advice: When it comes to choosing a doctor to remove your tattoo, go with one who has multiple lasers and can customize your treatment to your skin type and tattoo color. Facilities that have a single laser for all tattoos – unless it just happens to be the perfect device for your skin type and ink color – should send up a red flag. The one-laser-fits-all approach probably means your results won’t be as good, and there’s increased potential for injury and scarring. So even if getting a tattoo was a spur of the moment decision, choosing a doctor to remove it shouldn’t be.

After all this, you may still be left with one question – “Should I still get the Red Sox tattoo I’ve always wanted now that I’ve started dating a Yankees fan?” Sorry. Only you can answer that one.br

Skin Bleaching – When Serious Pigment Control is Needed November 29th, 2009

Author: Chris Murranbr
Source: ezinearticles.combr
br
Hyperpigmentation Requires Control of Pigment Production

Hyperpigmentation is the build up of pigment in skin. But doctors dont know exactly what causes the dark pigment melanin to clump in a particular spot, forming large blotches. Research has shown skin bleaching is effective therapy.

The newest skin bleaching products were developed by chemists for home use. They inhibit pigment production and slow the growth of existing pigmented cells. The deep color fades as dark cells are replaced with new skin, helped along by exfoliation.

Up-to-date topical applications are formulated with all-natural skin lightening ingredients such as kojic acid. Older potions use chemicals that have clear health warning, such as hydroquinone and mercury. Any bleaching regimen requires repeated applications, over time, to fade hyperpigmentation.

Melasma

This is the most pronounced example of hyperpigmentation. The dark pigment melanin builds up near the skin surface, forming grey or brown patches of skin with uneven edges. Melasma rises most often in skin exposed to the sun. There is no known cure.

Skin bleaching products work to impact the pigmentation in melasma. They promote degradation of melanin, inhibit its formation, and retard the growth of new melanin

Ninety percent of melasma develops in women. Estrogen may make melasma appear. Women taking hormone therapy at menopause or on oral contraceptives are most at risk of melasma, with pregnant women also affected.

Since chemicals are out, there are natural acids and vitamins shown to impact melanin. As previously mentioned, one is kojic acid. Its used as a health supplement in Japan. Other ingredients to look for include ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), and arbutin, which is a natural substance found in plants. Vitamins E and B-3 may also be in some products. Bleaching products are available over-the-counter. Since many find hyperpigmented skin and melasma embarrassing, they appreciate the privacy of skin lightening at home.

If youre experiencing uneven skin tone or skin discoloration, the first thing you need to do is to have it checked to ensure that you dont have an underlying skin disease. Two diseases that can cause uneven skin tone as part of their symptoms are tinea versicolor and vitiligo. For tinea versicolor, patches of the skin turns lighter or darker in color and is caused by a skin infection. The infection is caused, specifically by a type of fungi, thought by dermatologist as feeding off on the skins natural oils and dead skin cells, allowing them to spread to a large part of the skin. Vitiligo is a loss of skin pigmentation causing light or pale spots on areas of the skin. It is thought of as a genetic condition with some causes that can be traced to the immune system. Both diseases affect mainly young adults and those in adolescence. Just to make sure, check with your doctor to make sure that the discoloration is not linked to any serious skin diseases.

Mostly, though, discoloration of the skin may be caused by uneven pigmentation that may be the result of sun exposure or ineffective removal of dead skin cells. Below are some ways you can remedy skin discoloration. Please bear in mind that discoloration caused by a skin disease requires a separate and more serious treatment.

• You may look into using Kojic acid. It was discovered in Japan in 1989 and is a natural product that is derived from fungi. It inhibits the formation of pigment and works on the skins upper layer. It is said to be gentle on the skin.
• If your skin discoloration is caused by dead cells, using a treatment such as Alpha hydroxy acids may help. It removes dead or old cells faster and can also help lighten up age spots as well.
• Hydroquinon may also help although one of its side effects seems to be skin irritation.
• There are also suggested home remedies such as the use of sour milk. Apparently, the lactic acid found in sour milk helps to peel off dead layers of the skin and allows for its rejuvenation.
• Vitamin C intake is very much recommended. Eating fruits such as apples and fruits containing citrus can help the skin especially when it comes to sun exposure.
• You may also get the help of a qualified and reputable dermatologist in helping you to choose a topical cream that can reduce the discoloration. Always make sure to ask for any side effects or contraindications before applying the cream and follow the prescribed dosage and schedule of application.
• It is also advised that you increase your intake of foods that contain folic acid. Foods rich in folic acid include green leaves, liver, whole wheat, oats and barley. These ensure that your skin remains healthy and that you also get a good dose of Vitamin B.

Always make sure to consult first with a doctor or dermatologist before beginning any of these or other treatments on your skin.

Skin tattoos have been present for the longest time now and are more famous today than they were back then. This for of art has been around for more than a thousand year already. Anyone can see them just everywhere. Certain studies presented that approximately 35 percent of the American population aging between 18 to 30 years old have tattoos. People get a tattoo or tattoos for different reasons. For the most part, tattoo represents a statement of ones individuality and self-expression. Majority of the adults feel a lot sexier with a tattoo at some part of their body.

A tattoo, or otherwise known as dermal pigmentation, is a permanent mark, pattern, or design created by inserting pigments into the second layer of the skin. It is done by pricking the skin with specially designed needles dipped into indelible ink. Tattoos on human are some form of artistic body modification, while tattoos found on animals are used for branding or identification.

Tattooing is practiced worldwide. Japans indigenous people called the Ainu have been wearing facial tattoos. Polynesians, and particular tribal groups in Borneo, North America, Philippines, Africa, Mesoamerica, South America, Cambodia, Europe, China, and Japan are into tattoos. Albeit some taboos surrounding the creative world of tattooing, the art still manage to be popular and in demand all throughout the world.

The human skin is constituted of three layers namely: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous tissues. The epidermis is the topmost layer with no blood vessels and serves as a protective barrier. Second to the epidermis is the dermis. This is a thick layer and this is where the tattoos are formed. Since the epidermis is constantly replenished, with the top skin continually shedding off in a lifetime, the tattoo is pushed deeper into the dermis where it is expected to stay undeterred the whole time.

Tattoo needles penetrate into the skin for about 1.5 millimeters or 1/16 of an inch deeper. The tattoo artist must ensure that the ink goes just enough to be permanent and not deeper than necessary. The depth differs in certain areas of the body, like it is thinner on places like the genitals and deeper on the feets soles.

If a tattoo is too deeply made reaching the subcutaneous tissues, it causes bleeding and pain. It will also appear blurry even after it has healed. And if just a few millimeters beneath the epidermis, it leaves scratches and just wear off.

Learning about tattooing may take several years to master if you really intend of becoming a tattoo artist. Therefore, it is vital that you carefully choose a tattoo artist with more experience and already with a great portfolio of his or her works that clearly show excellent quality. There are aspiring wannabes in this field, so be very cautious. Take note that no matter how attractive the design is, but the tattoo artists skill is not as appealing, the outcome may possibly be devastation. A tattoo is as pretty and captivating as the artist who did it./pbr
