Anyone that has them wants to know how to eliminate age spots. Some of the recommended plans are incomplete. What you really want is a complete step-by-step anti-aging program. It might seem like too much trouble, at first. But, once you develop the habits, it will become as automatic as brushing your teeth.
Step 1: Watch what you eat.
There are some tempting foods that are really bad for your body and your skin. Things like French fries and white rice are some of them. They are referred to as simple carbohydrates. When they get inside of your body, they cause chain reactions that end with the production of molecules referred to as “Advanced Glycation End-products” or simply AGEs. Research has shown that they contribute to wrinkles and general skin aging.
Step 2: Make sure to get enough sleep.
When you are young, you might be able to get away without them. But, as you get older, you need all of the human growth hormones (HGH) that you can get. Whether or not the hormones will help eliminate age spots has yet to be proven, but it is known that HGH reduces aging throughout the body. Sleep studies have shown that interrupting a person’s sleep between the hours of midnight and 3am disrupts the production of HGH. Mostly, this has been seen in women.
Step 3: Protect your skin from the sun.
The sun is known to play a role in the production of free radical molecules, which are well-known causes of cellular aging. The sun is blamed for about 90% of all wrinkles and if you want to eliminate age spots, protecting the area from sunlight is probably the most important step. The spot is actually a clump of melanin, which is normally only produced in response to sun exposure.
Step 4: Re-evaluate your skincare products.
Some brown pigmentation is caused by petroleum-based alcohols; ethyl, methyl and isopropyl. If you see those ingredients in the products you are using, throw them out. It might seem like a waste, but do it anyway.
Petrolatum and mineral oil are some of the most common ingredients of cosmetics and beauty aids of all kinds. Throw those out, too. They interfere with the production of new skin cells and the elimination of waste products. If you want to eliminate age spots, reduce wrinkles or simply delay the aging process, you want better skincare products.
Step 5: Moisturize, lighten and heal.
The better skincare products moisturize and stimulate the production of new cells. They even out pigmentation by repairing sun damage. They help heal blemishes and prevent new ones from forming.
The ingredients to look for include coenzyme Q10, natural vitamin E, the protein keratin and grape seed oil. When it’s time for bed, use a cream containing Shea butter and avocado extract. Both of those natural ingredients have been shown to even out pigmentation.
If you follow these five steps, you will not only eliminate age spots, you will start to look younger in general. Why not start, today?
